Andrew Smeal was charged with 25 counts and bond was set at $50,000 during a Broward court appearance on Wednesday. An agent with the South Florida Crimes Against Children Task Force entered a peer-to-peer Internet file sharing network where he found a user offering to share child pornography videos and pictures, the arrest report stated. A total of 24 child pornography files were found between Feb. 20 and Aug. 13. They showed children under the age of 13 engaging in sex acts with adults and each other, the report said. The IP address was traced to Smeal's Hollywood home where investigators found 10 child pornography videos on a laptop and 14 more videos and one picture on a hard drive. They showed boys between the ages of 13 and 16, performing sex acts with and without adults, detectives said.​

According to the arrest report when police spoke to Smeal at his home he first told investigators he did download child porn and deleted it but then said he didn’t know how the child pornography got on his computer.​

Andrew Smeal, a former screener at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, was arrested Tuesday at his home in Hollywood, WFOR-TV, Miami, reported. The South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began the investigation in February, police said. Smeal was being held on $50,000 bail. Police said he began working for TSA about two months ago. He allegedly admitted downloading child pornography but later changed his story and said he did not know where the porn came from ... David Castelveter of the TSA confirmed by e-mail to UPI Smeal no longer works for the agency.​

A TSA screener employed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood airport in south Florida has been arrested and charged with 25 counts of possessing child pornography. Andrew Smeal has been the target of a seven-month investigation by the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. When Smeal (pictured in Broward County Sheriff's Department mug shot) was arrested, he had 25 images of children engaged in sexual acts on his computer. He told investigators at first he had downloaded the images and deleted them, but later said he did not know how the images had gotten onto his computer, according to the arrest report.​
